Join us for an informative panel discussion and Q&A on Young Professionals groups with representatives from the Urban League Young Professionals of Greater Southwestern Ohio, Ronald McDonald House’s Red Shoe Crew, Habitat Young Professionals of Greater Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center’s Innovators Circle, and AFP Cincinnati’s YP Group.  They’ll discuss the goals of their groups, the strategies used to start and grow their programs, and some of the challenges they have faced.

Angelica M. Hardee, PhD, CHES, President, The Urban League Young Professionals of Greater Southwestern Ohio.

Analisa Condon, Service Co-Chair, Ronald McDonald House of Greater Cincinnati’s Red Shoe Crew. The Red Shoe Crew (RSC) is a group of young professionals who help care for critically ill children and their families by volunteering, fundraising and being ambassadors for the mission of Cincinnati’s Ronald McDonald House.

Founded in 2013 and consisting of over 100 members, the RSC organizes activities for families, serves meals, assists with fundraising and events, and much more so that families with children receiving treatment at area hospitals will have the support they need. In addition, the RSC provides opportunities for members to expand their personal and professional networks through social events. Their commitment to providing excellent service and social opportunities makes this group one of the top YP groups in the city. Since its inception, the group has raised more than $40,000 for Cincinnati’s Ronald McDonald House. Now more than 125 members strong, the group hosts more than 25 social and service events each year.

Erik Smith, President, Habitat Young Professionals of Greater Cincinnati As President of the Habitat Young Professionals, Erik works together with the rest of the all-volunteer leadership team to organize and execute

the YP group’s ongoing event planning and fundraising goals. In coordination with the Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity Chapter, we work to provide volunteer support, fundraising, and awareness to the broader Habitat mission in Cincinnati. In his professional life, Erik is the Director of Financial Planning Services at Wealth Dimensions, an independent Investment Advisory Firm in Cincinnati.

Julie Spendal, Donor Relations Officer, Annual Giving, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. The Innovators Circle is an opportunity for rising philanthropists and emerging leaders in the community who are new to philanthropy and new to supporting Cincinnati Children’s.

Started in 2016, the Innovators Circle, currently comprised of 20 members, are given a unique opportunity to learn more about groundbreaking work happening at the medical center and join a collective giving group. With a gift of $1,500 or more, members will have a voice and help choose which initiatives will be awarded grants from the Innovators Fund each spring.

Michelle Harpenau, Director, YP, AFP Cincinnati Chapter, AFP is committed to engaging young professionals and those young to the profession (Y2P) building their fundraising careers.

AFP looks to fully leverage YP skills and expertise, and integrate them throughout our profession from front-line fundraiser, to executives, to prospect researchers and everything in between. The YP Committee looks to integrate and develop the voice of all YP across the Greater Cincinnati chapter.
