For more than 20 years\, Emily has helped to raise hundreds of millions of dollars for nonprofits through carefully crafted communications. In 2019\, she founded Weiswood Strategies Ltd.\, a communications firm focused on fundraising. Day to day\, Emily now helps regional\, national\, and international institutions like Albright College\, National Park Foundation\, Mount Saint Mary’s University\, and Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology. Emily’s expert insights on topics from endowments to email marketing have appeared in Forbes\, HigherEdJobs\, and other major media outlets. \nEmily began her career as a fundraiser\, working in annual giving\, institutional giving\, and planned giving for several arts organizations and at The Philadelphia Foundation. From the Foundation\, Emily made her way to Haverford College\, where for seven years she oversaw campaign and other fundraising communications\, supervised publication design and production for dozens of offices across campus\, and managed the College’s visual identity. Prior to founding Weiswood Strategies\, Emily was the director of advancement communications at Swarthmore College where\, in addition to overseeing campaign communications\, she chaired the faculty/staff/student get-out-the-vote committee (doubling the student voting rate)\, and wrote for key leaders including the president and board chair. \nShe is a graduate of Vassar College (BA) and American University (MA) \nThis event has been approved for 1.5 CFRE Credits. \n  \n  \n\n\n
