GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Development Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the VP of Development in all fundraising activities including donor and public relations, direct mail appeals and special events.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Essential Job Duties:
- Works with CVC Office Assistant in processing donations, acknowledgment letters, and other correspondence.
- Maintains foundation, corporation, and individual donor files
- Creates monthly fundraising reports and other database reports, as needed.
- Assists with maintaining accurate database records and ensuring proper donor activity tracking in database.
- Conducts preliminary research on prospective donors.
- Assists in production and mailing of spring and year-end appeal letters.
- Coordinates fundraising event planning and logistics for fundraisers
- Handles all administrative details associated with the Development office.
- Prepares media materials for distribution. (i.e. copying, filing, mailing, e-mailing).
- Assembles media and donor kits for events and meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit development office
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Non-profit database experience – Raiser’s Edge preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to present information concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage workflow.

- Ability to communicate effectively in English. Able to perform simple mathematics and thorough knowledge and skill in typing and word processing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to sit for up to 75% of the workday; must be able to stand and walk throughout the workday. Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to lift to 30 lbs. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have good manual dexterity for typing and operation of office machinery including computer. Requires continuous mental and visual attention to diversified operations.
Salary range: 24.00-26.00 hourly
