The Advancement Director is a strategic, relationship-driven fundraising professional who will lead and expand the organization’s development efforts. The Advancement Director will be responsible for leading and implementing fundraising strategies that support CYC’s mission, programs, and long-term sustainability.

This position will help design and launch a new Major Gifts Program for CYC by enhancing CYC’s
pipeline of individual donors, cultivating meaningful relationships, and securing transformational
philanthropic support. The role will also oversee corporate partnerships and sponsorships, advance
alumni engagement initiatives, supervise the Advancement Specialist, and help position CYC for
long-term fundraising success.

Core Goals:
• Achieve Annual Fundraising & Revenue Growth by developing and executing a
comprehensive fundraising strategy that increases annual revenue through major gifts,
individual giving, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and diversified funding opportunities.
• Strengthen Donor & Corporate Relationships by cultivating, soliciting, stewarding, and
expanding relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, board members, alumni,
and community stakeholders to build long-term philanthropic support.
• Provide Strategic Advancement Leadership by leading and developing a culture of
philanthropy across CYC, fostering collaboration, promoting accountability, and aligning
fundraising efforts with CYC’s mission and strategic priorities.
• Expand Community Engagement & Strategic Partnerships by increasing CYC’s visibility and
impact by developing meaningful corporate, alumni, and community partnerships that support
fundraising initiatives and organizational growth.
• Drive Data-Informed Fundraising Operations by ensuring effective fundraising operations
through accurate CRM management, donor tracking, performance reporting, forecasting, and
data analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Primary Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy & Leadership
• Execute a comprehensive annual development strategy aligned with organizational priorities
and revenue goals.
• Build, manage, and grow CYC’s Major Gifts Program
• Manage CYC’s robust donor pipeline with a focus on increasing individual giving and long-term
donor engagement.
• Analyze fundraising performance and recommend strategies to maximize revenue and donor
engagement.
• Partner with executive leadership and board members to cultivate, solicit, and steward key
donor relationships.

Corporate Partnerships & Community Engagement
• Lead strategy and revenue generation for corporate partnerships and sponsorships supporting
CYC’s signature fundraising events and strategic initiatives.
• Develop creative sponsorship opportunities and customized proposals that align organizational
priorities with partner interests.
• Build and steward long-term relationships with corporate partners and community leaders.
• Develop and lead alumni engagement strategies in conjunction with CYC’s YP Board,
including communications and cultivation opportunities

Advancement Leadership & Operations
• Supervise, coach, and support the professional growth of the Advancement Specialist.
• Foster a collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on donor engagement, accountability,
and continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate donor and prospect records, move management activities, and reporting
within CYC’S CRM, GiveButter.
• Prepare fundraising reports, forecasts, dashboards, and other presentations as requested for
organizational leadership and the Board of Directors.

Required Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications,
marketing, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and
relevant experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional fundraising, development, or advancement experience with
demonstrated responsibility for donor cultivation and solicitation.
• Experience managing donor relationships and fundraising pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to secure individual gifts, sponsorships, grants, or other philanthropic
revenue.
• Experience developing and maintaining relationships with donors, corporate partners,
community leaders, or other key stakeholders.
• Experience using donor database/CRM systems to manage donor records and fundraising
activities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
and deadlines.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support fundraising events, donor
meetings, and organizational activities.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degree and/or CFRE credential.
• Three to seven years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, including major gifts
and donor relationship management.
• Demonstrated success in securing major gifts and building or expanding donor portfolios.
• Proven experience cultivating corporate partnerships and securing sponsorship revenue.
• Experience supervising staff, managing projects, and implementing fundraising strategies.
• Knowledge of the Greater Cincinnati philanthropic and corporate community.
• Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and fundraising technology.

Work Environment & Schedule:
This is a full-time, exempt position that generally works Monday through Friday during regular
business hours. However, flexibility is required to attend occasional early morning, evening, and
weekend meetings, fundraising events, board meetings, donor cultivation activities, and community
engagements. Local travel throughout the Greater Cincinnati region is expected for donor visits,
partnership meetings, and organizational events. The position may offer limited flexibility for a hybrid
work schedule based on organizational needs, while maintaining a strong onsite presence to support
collaboration, relationship building, and community engagement, after successfully completing your
90-day introductory period.

Salary: $62,000 – $70,000 year
