Seeking Director of Development
Organization The country’s 2025 #3 Pop Culture Museum (according to USA Today) is seeking an enterprising fundraiser to further develop philanthropic support from individuals, foundations and companies. Founded in 1999, The American Sign Museum celebrated its 25th anniversary by doubling its footprint to 40,000 sq. ft. thanks to a successful capital campaign. Offering an enlightening experience, its multi-faceted mission is to celebrate history of American signage through education and preservation. Position As a member of the leadership team, the Director of Development will be accountable for personally stewarding capital and annual donors while enthusiastically attracting and retaining friends to invest in the Museum’s educational and special programs. Reporting to the Museum Director, this position is supported by the Board of Directors and a part-time assistant.
Expectations The successful candidate will bring at least six years demonstrable successes in a nonprofit setting; excellent written and oral communication skills; exemplary interpersonal skills; enterprising self-starter references, and genuine interest in the museum’s preservation and educational mission.
Qualifications Baccalaureate degree or equivalent. Confidence-level based on successful and progressive fundraising roles. Collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit. CRM software proficiency. Understanding of the complementary roles of nonprofit membership and fundraising. Team oriented with ability to work independently. Diplomatic and experienced in growing and sustaining genuine relationships in a multi-constituency.

Starting salary $65,000 +
