Join us as we kick off AFP Cincinnati’s bi-monthly webinar series! In this session, participants will gain takeaways to help deepen skills around discovery work and the first human-to-human interactions (first impressions) between the benefactors and you as a representative of your organization using thank you calls and outreach to current benefactors. Walk away with practical ways to build a discovery work tool kit, library of questions and strategies to structure natural follow-up to advance relationships with benefactors – all in your own voice.

Lessons Learned & Best Practices around Initiating Memorable Experiences: Learn the importance of settling into the right mindset when making calls and how to create a different, better and memorable experience for benefactors.

With a personal passion for making a difference in the world, Lauren Wise enjoys seeing the way philanthropy transforms our world. Lauren attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in strategic communications in 2012. She started her career in various roles in Ohio State’s communications and advancement offices, where she discovered development as a career path. In 2016, Lauren moved into a role at Cleveland Clinic overseeing their direct mail program and annual giving initiatives. During her time there, she launched a transformational change to Cleveland Clinic’s annual fund to focus on pipeline development and stewardship. Lauren started her current role as a philanthropic advisor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in June 2018. Here, she serves as a gift officer and builds meaningful relationships with individuals who want to make an impact through their philanthropy, using discovery work and benefactor-centric best practices to open gift conversations.
