The Benefits of Collaboration: Higher Education Administration and Advancement

Higher education’s hierarchical leadership structure requires deliberate efforts to navigate into collaboration to promote the mission of the campus. A partnership between academic affairs and advancement is highly desirable in leveraging external community interest and in generating revenue. In this talk, Dr. Beverly Schneller, as the chief academic officer at a four-year regional public university, describes how campus programming is enhanced when advancement and academic affairs combine forces for student success.

Dr. Beverly E. Schneller is the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Governors State University. She has oversight of all academic programs; institutional compliance; graduate studies; honors; grants and sponsored research; the liberal studies (General Education) program; institutional research; institutional effectiveness; and the Social Justice Initiative. She has been a Teagle Foundation Assessment Scholar; and a graduate of the national Emerging Leaders Program and the New Provosts Academy. Dr. Schneller joined Governors State University in 2022. Previously, Dr. Schneller has held positions at Marist College ( NY), Millersville University (PA), The University of Baltimore (MD), Belmont University (TN), and Kentucky State University (KY).
