More about our Speakers:

Clare Zlatic Blankemeyer, CFRE, CAP®

Clare thrives in connecting people to create change. She is a firm believer that representative community engagement and data-driven impact are not mutually exclusive. Through her leadership at a local family office, these principles were applied through launching a significant family foundation and balancing community impact with family engagement. Through GreenLight Fund Cincinnati, these values were expressed in partnership with cross-sector stakeholders funding and scaling social innovations to build greater economic mobility in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her previous experiences focused on scaling education pathways for people who incarcerated, building for-profit and nonprofit community engagement strategies, as well as leading through community roles such as the Girl Scout Gold Award Board, Jefferson Award Committee, Cincinnati Human Services Chamber, Hamilton County Job & Family Services Planning Committee, Magnified Giving, Living Undivided for racial healing, solidarity, and justice, St. Francis Seraph Board of Directors, and as Past President and Governance Chair of Impact 100. Clare is a native Cincinnatian and graduated from the University of Dayton, studying Psychology and Social Work. She is a member of Affordable Housing Advocates (AHA), the Cincinnati Business Courier’s 40 Under 40 class of 2014, and was named the 2017 Emerging Philanthropist at Legacy’s Next Generation Leader Awards.

Michele Carey, CAP®

Michele is Vice President, Philanthropic Strategies at Greater Cincinnati Foundation, where she leads a team dedicated to introducing individuals, families, and their professional advisors to GCF as a resource to leverage their generosity for the good of our community. Michele helps the people create giving plans for their lifetime and legacy plans for the benefit of future generations. Michele deeply enjoys having conversations with people about their charitable passions and helping them connect their giving to what personally matters most.

Michele’s career began nearly 30 years ago at The Chicago Community Trust, where she first learned the valuable role a community foundation plays in creating a vibrant region. She was thrilled to join the team at Greater Cincinnati Foundation in 2012, where she learned the art of cultivating deep relationships with donors and their professional advisors.

Michele is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®), a designation she earned from the Richard D. Irwin Graduate School of The American College of Financial Services. The Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy curriculum coaches philanthropic advisors, attorneys, financial planners, and accountants on how to engage clients in meaningful conversations about charitable giving, as well as providing tools for tax saving strategies. Michele moderates GCF’s CAP Study Group, which is a leadership program to help professional advisors grow deep charitable knowledge as they earn the CAP designation. She also serves on the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy Industry Council of The American College of Financial Services.

Michele’s volunteer work in our community spans many years. She served for 7 years on the board of Cincinnati Public Radio, and for 11 years on the board of the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI). She is Past President of the Estate Planning Council of Northern Kentucky and is actively involved with the Cincinnati Estate Planning Council.
