Job Summary

The primary focus will be on fundraising. The secondary focus will be on Community Engagement and Outreach to maintain collaborative relationships. There is opportunity to shape and expand the duties of the position that will further the ability to meet MPF’s mission.

This is a part time (16 hours/week) position that offers flexible hours and the ability to work from home occasionally. The position will report to the president of MPF. The hourly rate of pay is between $20 -$25 depending on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position


  1. Assist with MPF’s annual membership solicitation drive and fundraising events.
  2. Research grants and other potential funding opportunities; identify those that are viable and appropriate for MPF’s projects.
  3. Create letters of inquiry and make full applications for funding opportunities.
  4. Create ancillary materials related to grant implementations when necessary.
  5. Keep records of money spent by any grant received; create and file the final reporting as necessary for exhausted grants.
  6. Meet with the committees of the MPF board to understand their objectives to get a better understanding of the type of funding that would benefit MPF’s mission.

Community Engagement and Outreach

  1. Represent MPF’s membership in organizations that are related to historic museums or buildings.
  2. Establish collaborative programs with local organizations that are related to historic museums or buildings.
  3. Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with local neighborhood groups, businesses, institutions, and schools.
  4. Be the primary public face of MPF and core contact to the community and outside organizations.

Salary Range
$20 -$25 per hour depending on experience.
