Laura Berkemeier: Director of Development at Life Learning Center

Through multiple careers in a variety of industries, Laura Berkemeier has designed and executed several dozen small and large-scale events for non-profit and for-profit organizations. Some example organizations include P&G, ArtsWave, Northern Kentucky University, Thomas More University and more. Signature events include ArtsWave’s CincySings, and the recent Life Learning Center Gala which generated 129% over the initial income goal. Laura studied Communications and Theatre at Thomas More University; her theatrical aptitudes have served her well in event planning and she has remained involved with community theatres across Greater Cincinnati for over 15 years.

Latisha Owens: Founder & President of Guiding Light Mentoring

Latisha Owens is Founder & President of Guiding Light Mentoring, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving youth ages 8-18 in the Greater Cincinnati area by embracing youth from diverse backgrounds and providing the tools necessary to improve decision making, increase confidence and attain resilience. Ms. Owens founded Guiding Light Mentoring in 2014 because she recognized the benefits of a caring and trusted adult who aids youth in personal development. Ms. Owens has over 14 years of experience working with youth in the mental health field. Outside of Guiding Light Mentoring, Ms. Owens is actively involved in her community and has served on various ministries within her church. Ms. Owens has received several awards for her outstanding work in the community and is a recent 2019 Forty Under 40 Honoree.

Valerie Milinovich: Assistant Vice President, Donor Relations at the University of Cincinnati Foundation

Valerie Milinovich is the Assistant Vice President, Donor Relations at the University of Cincinnati Foundation where she leads events and experiences to celebrate the impact of philanthropy.  With over 25 years of event planning experience – she has coordinated a myriad of special events for non-profits and corporations.  She was previously part of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden’s Development Team where she helped grow fundraising events in size, scope, and revenue.
